Coolest Cotton Candy Halloween Costume

While preparing cotton candy at a street carnival during the summer, I realized that a cotton candy cone would make an excellent Halloween costume for my 8 year old daughter.

The “cone” portion was made using two cone shaped pieces cut from white canvas and glued to a black skirt (one in front and one in back).

The candy portion was made using a long-sleeved pink shirt and 8 yards of pink tulle. I started with the tulle at the bottom of the shirt and wound it around toward the top fluffing it out and tacking it to the shirt occasionally so that it would stay up. We completed her outfit with pink satin gloves, a tulle bow, and black leggings.

She looked sweet enough to eat and she absolutely loved her costume!

  2. Just start with the tulle at the bottom of the shirt (in back) and fasten using fabric glue, a safety pin, or sewing it to the shirt. Then wind around fastening it in place as you work your way up the shirt. At the top, I tucked the end of the tulle underneath other tulle and pinned it in place. Hopefully that helps!
