This year my husband and I went as a ‘Deer Caught in Headlights’. This homemade deer caught in headlights couple costume was perfect, unique, clever, and homemade.
To make the Deer, I bought a large, brown long-sleeved T-shirt, some white faux fur at the craft store, and some deer antlers. A little black make-up on the nose and some black gloves completed the look. The headlights are two, battery operated tap lights from the hardware store, and the road was made with white duct tape down the center of an old black dress. I painted the edges of the tap lights silver so they looked like chrome, and then used Velcro to attach them to the dress.
The Deer XING sign is made out of yellow and black cardstock. The homemade deer caught in headlights couple costume was a huge hit at our annual Halloween party, and was easily one of the simplest costumes I have ever made, and extremely easy to wear.

How did you attach the tap lights to the dress?

She attached them with Velcro!
i used a black shoe string and hung them around my neck :) put the shoe lace through the hole on the battery door. I bought the first alert tap lights from Meijer @ $3.99 each. long black knit skirt and long sleeve black tshirt with white electrical tape.
