Every year at work we have a Halloween costume contest. This year, I was working with a limited budget, and I wanted to make sure that no one else would have the same costume as me. I stumbled across Rosie the Riveter idea accidentally – while browsing a poster website. It was very easy to execute, and the best part is that this Homemade Rosie the Riveter Costume cost me less than $10 to make!
I purchased blue, yellow, and white poster boards at Wal-Mart, as well as the fabric for the head band. With some practice, I was able to duplicate the yellow and blue background on the poster board, the orientation and letters must have been the hardest part.
The headband was easy to assemble – I folded a piece of fabric diagonally and secured it with safety pins.
I already had a blue shirt in my closet to finish the costume (don’t forget to roll the sleeves up!), and, as the final touch, I carried a wrench in my back pocket.
You look exactly like Tina Fey!
