Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host, your… ghost host. I just love that classic unmistakable phrase from Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. My family just loves Disneyland and I LOVE the Haunted Mansion!
I started in June 2013 to make my boys costume tribute to the spooktacular ride by transforming them into Ezra, Gus & Phineas. I wanted everything to be as authentic looking I (just a mom and Disney enthusiast) could make them. I searched for the perfect fabrics and details that would make each of their costumes ghostly perfect and got to work. I referenced any pictures of the Hitchhiking Ghosts that I could find looking at tiny things and makeup that would complete their ghostly transformation. I was so thrilled and my boys LOVED their Ode to the Hitchhiking Ghosts.
On Halloween afternoon I took them down to a spooky old mill that was near our home called The Cottonwood Paper Mill to snap some quick pictures of my boys in full costume. The sky was dark and gloomy and with the mill in the background the picture was haunting!! My boys were the hit of every house they haunted and at out Halloween party. Beware of hitchhiking ghosts! They have selected you to fill our quota, and they’ll haunt you until you return!
