So this homemade Rain Cloud costume was inspired by one my best friend’s photograph of a sunset. We live in Costa Rica Guanacaste in a little town called Tamarindo and it has been very dry this season so this costume was also a pray to the rain Gods to send some more moisture our way.
The headpiece has been built onto a construction helmet and using a wire armature the cloud is completed with plastic and tulle. Inside I have tons of mini lights . I created the rain from thin strips of strong vinyl.
I did win first place in the local costume contest. Everybody seemed to like the costume and I had a ton of pictures taken by others throughout the night. I hope you guys like my costume (I put a lot of thoght into my outfits ever year).
