Easy Homemade R2D2 Costume for a Child

We bought a navy blue collapsible laundry hamper from Walmart and some white spray paint and a roll of blue painters tape. While watching the star wars movies we marked off where the blue panels were on r2, and taped over them. Then spray painted the whole thing white.

When it was dry we cut head and arm holes and then started adding details with duct tape and sharpie.

The hat is a clear plastic punch bowl that i drilled holes on either side to string the elastic through. Then spray painted silver and added duct tape details too.

There is also a LED light on the front of the lid that came out of a broken toy, that’s just glue gunned on.
