I had been thinking about this Homemade Peacock Costume for more than a year, and finally made it happen. I used a dress I got 2 years ago, that had the perfect color for the costume. I got around 80 peacock feathers that I fixed on cardboard with hot glue, and then covered up the base with fabric and made a giant gold bow in the back.
Finally, I made a hat with a plastic headband and a jam pot lid as a base, with peacock feathers and a small veil. Overall it probably took around 30 hours to make, because I am a little perfectionist.
I think it was a success, besides the fact that it wasn’t very convenient for a crowded club night. The tail was very large and the feathers fragile, so I had to be careful when walking through large crowds. I had a lot of fun and can’t wait until next Halloween!
