Here’s my easy to make baby Elvis costume.
We were going to the Elvis festival in Collingwood and we thought it would be funny to dress the baby up like Elvis and since it was very difficult to find a costume so small and in such a short time a decided to make it myself and it was a success!
I used a pair of white pants, a white dress shirt, glitter glue, a piece of gold fabric and Velcro.
I cut a straight line from the bottom up on each side of the pants and sleeves and I sew a triangle of gold fabric to it to make the bell bottom look.
I used another piece of fabric to make the belt and with the fabric left I made the cape, cutting it in a square and rounding the bottom. I attached it with Velcro around the collar of the shirt.
With the glitter glue I decorated the pants, shirt, belt and cape in dots to make them look like rhinestones (which I didn’t want to use because I was afraid the baby would put them in his mouth).
I painted his sideburns with black eye shadow and viola! Elvis was born again.
Okay, that is the cutest costume (and baby) I think I’ve ever seen. Next time my nephews are looking for ideas, I’m going to copy this! Thanks!
