I rescued Max, an English Bulldog, from the NSPCA in Springfield, MA in April of 2008. At the time he had ringworm, was underweight and had been abandoned by his previous owner. Since then Max has gotten healthy (and fat) and has been a great addition to the family. He enjoys sleeping, eating and being around his humans.
To create this Homemade Scuba Bulldog Costume, we used a variety of items. We cut a pair of actual scuba gloves to create the flippers. His shorts were a pair of boxer briefs, which we attached to his scuba tank via tie wraps. His tanks were empty soda bottles that were spray-painted gray and updated with some foil and tape. His tanks were then bolted together and attached to a mesh back support for easy transportation. A snorkel, flashlight and trident were then added.
His breathing apparatus was a blue tube, which we fitted with a football mouthpiece. A child’s scuba suit was modified and expanded to fit his upper body and we added some goggles atop his head. The entire costume was very light, surprisingly comfortable and he could sit, lie down and walk with no problems.
Love the costume and adore your dog!
