Coolest Homemade Pregnant Skeleton Costume

I love Halloween and love dressing up, so being pregnant in October just added to the fun. My 1-year-old was going trick-or-treating as a skeleton, and I thought it would be cool if I made a Pregnant Skeleton Costume (along with his future baby brother), too!

This costume was super easy to make, though time consuming. The base is simply an oversized black shirt and black pants. The bones are all cut out of white craft foam (very inexpensive at Walmart) and sewn on individually (that was the time consuming part).

For the baby skeleton, I still used the white craft foam, but the pieces were too small to sew on individually (or I’m too lazy, whatever), so I bought one sheet of black craft foam and glued the baby skeleton pieces to that, which worked GREAT! I cut the black foam around the baby maybe 1/2 inch out and then sewed the whole thing in to place. Just a note: I thought the idea of a baby skeleton was just a little creepy, so I made sure to have the baby skeleton smiling… much better!

I have gotten TONS of great compliments on this costume and even recently loaned it to my newly pregnant friend as a way of informing people of her pregnancy! Enjoy!
