The frozen head in fridge costume started out as a water heater box. I cut it down the left side to make the “doors” then placed a piece of cardboard in the bottom of the “freezer” section that rested on my daughters head.
We spray-painted the entire thing white and placed bent cardboard on the freezer and fridge part to look like handles. I had my youngest daughter draw a picture for the front, and placed little foam letters on the doors to look like a little kid had been playing there.
We also put empty cereal boxes on the top with Velcro so they could be removed when the costume wasn’t being worn.
After applying some grayish paint and a nice long makeup cut along my daughters neck, we teased her hair and in she went. I also placed an empty ice tray in the freezer with Velcro and an empty ice cream tub in to catch hold the candy since she didn’t have arms available to her.
This costume got a lot of attention. People would make us wait on their porch so they could take a picture and we had cars stopping in the street to look and ask questions.
I still have the fridge in the basement, I couldn’t bring myself to dispose of it.
I love it and I’m going to be it for Halloween! me and my mom always make my costumes homemade and this one is perfect. Thanks foe giving us the idea!
I love this idea! I am going to make it for my 12 year old brother this year. He and I always do homemade costumes and I had ran out of ideas. We like to do costumes that haven’t been done before at his school. I am picking this one, We both love it!!! Thanks!
I’ve always thought my costume ideas were clever; this is fabulous! I’m out-done, jealous, and delighted!
I love to make my kids’ (and my own!) costumes, but this year my big 7 year old decided he was too cool to wear a homemade costume…until he saw this one! Now he can’t wait for me to make it for him, so thanks for the fantastic idea!
I have seen your costume and think that it would give me the chills to see what people would say to see me in it. You say that you still have it. Would you like to sell it?
This is the best costume ever! I just love it!

The blood makes it look even better!
I wanna make this costume… but does anyone think it would be stupid to cut holes in the box for arms? I’m going to be wearing it at the bar and need to hold my drink. Or will the costume be to bulky for the bar?

THIS IS THE BEST COSTUME EVER ! I WAS SEARCHING FOR A COSTUME TO MAKE AND THIS IS THE BEST ONE EVER!
Best costume ever. I did this for my son yesterday and it was a hit. The only difference was I did arm holes, added more body parts, and included a missing poster on the front with his picture.
