Homemade Roadkill Costume

I purchased front zip, brown, feet type, fuzzy pajamas that actually also included a hood for this Homemade Roadkill Costume. I purchased light colored fur at a local fabric store and hot glued (I don’t sew) this to the front of the pajama in two sections (divided by zipper) for the stomach area so the tire track would be visible.

I also used small pieces of this fur to attach ears to the top of the hood. I also purchased additional fur material in a darker, multi colored fur to be used as a tail. I inserted clothes hangers (any type of wire would work) inside the tail area so that it could bend easily into a desired shape and attached it to the rear part of the costume.

The bottom part of the foot was cut out and the top part was used as shoe coverings. I purchased a pair of brown fur gloves for hand coverings. With both the gloves and the shoe coverings, I glued on claws that I made from grey/white Sculpy clay that hardens into the shape you make. Some were broken which even looked more realistic. I purchased bones, body organs and fake blood from a local Halloween store and attached them to the costume in the appropriate place (heart on left chest, liver/kidney in stomach area, etc.) and applied the fake blood around the wounds.

I used a spare tire sprayed in black paint to roll over the stomach area and leave a tire imprint. There you have it, fresh road kill!
