My daughter got the idea for her Homemade Zombie Bride Halloween Costume this year from watching Michael Jackson’s Thriller video for the first time. We got an old wedding dress at our local Goodwill for $7 and soaked it in hot tea to make it look old. We did the same for her veil and gloves. We ripped all of them and used a cheese grater to make them look old and worn.
I sewed some fall leaves on them to add to the look. We ratted her hair and made her face look bruised with make-up. All of the items got splattered with fake blood. I added a drop of blue food coloring to the blood because it dried too pink without it.
Kelsey had a lot of fun making this costume and got tons of compliments on it. Her grandmother didn’t even know it was her at first. I probably spent around $20 on the entire thing. My only regret is that she didn’t have a zombie groom to compliment her look!!
