I found an old dress at a vintage thrift shop in my Brooklyn neighborhood for this Homemade Headless Ghost Lady Halloween Costume. I built the body from a piece of packing Styrofoam taped to the handle of a rolling backpack. It was almost the right size already, just had to sculpt the waist.
For the neck I turned a yogurt container upside down and glued some of the shaved Styrofoam to the top for a jagged cut flesh look, and painted with acrylic paints. The blood is just acrylic paint on the gloves and apron. I wish I had added some fake blood to my neck, as in some photos you can see my neck, but all in all, a success!
