Cool DIY Headless Halloween Costume

Michael and I made this Homemade Headless Halloween Costume using a rolling backpack. We duck taped the handles to they would stay upright. We used 2 faucet insulators for shoulders, and duct taped them to either side of the upright handle. We used 2 triangular faucet insulators for the neck and head, and duct taped them as well.

We put a cheap trench coat over the shoulders and stuffed the arms with flexible dryer tubing. At the end of each arm, we attached a fake hand. He was easily able to put the backpack on and he wore it comfortably. We buttoned the coat around his head, rested the fake hands on top of his head so it would appear that the severed headless man, was holding onto my sons head, with it’s fake hands. We made the brains out of cooked soybean threads, which we soaked in red food coloring and chocolate syrup. We made the fake blood with chocolate syrup and cherry pie filling mixture. We did his makeup with liquid latex, lots of rice crispies (to get that rippled look on his left side) and colored face paints.

This costume was extremely easy to put together, and so much fun! The cost for all materials was under $20, it took about 4 hours to complete the costume.
