I live for Halloween! And every costume I attempt to create a whole walking scene. So nothing is creepier than a porcelain doll collection, a lot of them. I wanted to be conveyed as collection come to life. I got a few dolls and took them apart and put them back in different ways. I hand painted and cracked their faces. The one doll I made out of different parts from other dolls and gave her creepy eyes.
I secured the dolls on sticks attached to my back (bruises to show for it!) The other two were tied to my wrists. I wanted the illusion of my face coming apart to reveal the doll coming to life. So I cut and shaped plastic and reshaped to the contours of my face along with make up and spirit gummed them to my face. And painted the mask.
Found the doll-esque dress at a vintage thrift store, curled my hair like my buddies and creep deville! The reaction was more than fun, people ran from me through the streets of Hollywood, some people could not even look at me due to their fear of dolls! I stayed in doll form and movement-even on the dance floor all night! Such fun, my job to creep was a complete success!
