Okay, I would have to say this was a very challenging costume for me to put together. Katelynn wanted to be Harleyquin from the Batman cartoon. So I set to work on getting the materials needed to make the costume.
I had to purchase two long sleeved body suits and two pairs of tights, each one black and one red. I then purchased white felt with some red and black felt for the diamond cutouts. I cut both the suits and the tights in half and spliced them together. I also purchased some little black and red gloves to go with the outfit.
I had some white ruffle fabric that I lined the neck and the gloves with. I took the white felt and cut half oval shapes to add with the neck ruffles.
I purchased some black and red slippers and added a triangle shape to the back of them with a bell sewn on each tip. I then took the other halves of the suits and converted them into the jester hood that she is wearing. I stuffed the tips of the jester hood with old pillow stuffing and took some white fluffy balls and sewed them to the tips with bells as well. I also added these fluffy white balls to the ends of the white oval shapes.
After she put the jumpsuit and hood on, I painted her face with water based acrylic fabric paint to top her off. Now she’s ready for action in her homemade Harley Quinn from Batman costume. Enjoy!!!!!
