This is my Homemade Poison Ivy Costume. Over 1000 silk leaves were used to create it. I found an old bodice, bathing suit bottoms, and a pair of boots, along with a green curtain for a cape, at a local thrift store and used hot glue to attach the individual leaves to each piece. I used the cuffs of an old shirt to make the arm bands. I then glued hundreds of pale green crystal beads (ivy berries) and red rosettes to the bodice, boots, and arm bands. More ivy, beads and rosettes were glued to a store bought wig. I used Mod Podge to adhere green glitter to the heels of my boots. Velcro was used on the arm bands, boots (as they have no zipper), and bottoms to keep them in place.
Finally, I glued several leaves together, cut them to shape the eyebrows, and glued beads on them as a finish. I used double-sided fabric tape to attach the eyebrows to my face. It took countless hours, several all-nighters included, to complete the costume, but the end result was well worth it!
love this totally should be in the best of all!
