Coolest Guilmon from Digimon Costume

I love Anime, and my favorite is Digimon. When a friend told me about cosplay, which is a combination of Costume, and Play, I decided to try it out. I loved Guilmon, and I thought why not try a Guilmon from Digimon Costume?

I used craft foam from Joannns, cotton red fabric, and sculpy clay. I took an old winter hat, and pulled it far past my eyes. Then marking where my eyes had been, I cut a small hole big enough for my mouth, nose and eyes to breath.

I carved out of a slab of foam what would soon be the bottom jaw. I hot glued it on the bottom of the hole. Then I made the top part of the snout and fastened it, using a long strip of foam to the side of the winter hat and it stuck. Then I carved the ears, the ridges, and anything else that is featured on his head. Then I covered it with the red fabric.

I covered the eye holes with a window liner so that I could see out and put detail on them. For the tail, it’s simply fabric with stuffing inside, with an elastic band to pull it over my legs.

The hands are complete foam, with a hole inside for my hands. The claws are done the same way as the head’s ears and snout. Then I covered it with material.

The feet are made out of an old pair of shoes that I glued foam onto to give it shape and material was glued onto it also.

The result was this: a Guilmon! When I went to my first large Anime convention, everybody loved it! I love making costumes, and am in the process of making a Garurumon!
