The Homemade Pumpkin King Costume idea isn’t original but I decided to host a Nightmare before Christmas Halloween party at my house this year. There were several ways I wanted to approach this costume idea. The easiest way was to buy one, but where’s the fun in that? So I got the sewing pattern at Wal Mart and my teacher and I sewed it up which took a few hours, but the the thing that took the longest was painting all of those pinstripes on the outfit.
Then I made the mask out of paper mache and painted the face on it. Bought a pair of skeleton gloves at party city and got a white choir shirt and black dress shoes from my closet. The bow tie is just a black piece of foam and my neck was painted white.
It took a long time but it was a labor of love.
