Cool Homemade Jack Skellington and Sally Costume

I love the film ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’ so I decided to make a homemade Jack Skellington and Sally costume for my boyfriend Roger and myself.

For Roger’s homemade Jack Skellington costume we painted stripes onto an old suit jacket and trousers, I made the bat dickie bow using wire bent into the shape of bat wings, I then covered it in leather and painted the details on it. For his Jack head we used a white swimming cap to cover his hair and I painted his Jack face using face paints. We also used a pair of Skellington gloves as hands.

For my homemade Sally costume I got a white t-shirt and lots of white fabric and painted the same designs from Sally’s dress onto the fabric. I then sewed the pieces together to create the patchwork dress. For my arms and legs I drew stitching onto a long sleeved t-shirt and white socks with a permanent marker. My wig was black and sprayed with red hairspray and I painted my face white with stitching details and big rag doll eyelashes. We got so many compliments on the night and many of our friends didn’t recognize us!
