Easy DIY Thomas the Train Costume

My three year old has been in love with trains for well over a year now. The only toys we even have in the house are trains. So it was obvious to make him a Homemade Thomas the Train Costume.

I got a box from the liquor store and cut an area for him so it wasn’t snug but wasn’t too big and open. I then covered the box in blue poster board. I covered the box in packing tape so it would stay more durable, especially if it snowed. I printed out a Thomas face and colored it gray with crayon. cut out a number one from foam.

For the wheels, I took three-inch circles and taped them over a strip of red construction paper onto the flaps of the box. I then cut around the wheels on the flap to give the wheels some extra stability. Since I made the Thomas and Percy at the same time, I made the tragic mistake of putting two wheels on Thomas when it should have been three. I was reminded constantly that the wheels were incorrect. I used two inch black circles for the buffers on the front and back. I hot glued a toilet paper roll colored by a Sharpie marker on the top and cut down the toilet paper tube. With the full height of the toilet paper tube, the funnel kept ripping off.
