Coolest Homemade Kellogg’s Froot Loops Costume

My 12 year-old son had the idea for this Homemade Kellogg’s Froot Loops Costume the moment he saw the big box in the neighbor’s yard. He tends to shy away from frightening costumes and always tries for something different. (Last year he as a glow in the dark stick man!) It was his idea to dress up as “You Are What You Eat.” Yep…he is addicted to the sweet stuff in the morning just like his dad. He will be handing out Froot Loops treats through the hole in the front too.

We painted the front and back with acrylic paint, and it was Zach’s idea to design a big word-search of fun on the back like the activities on real cereal boxes. We had to reduce the width of the box by cutting the side of and re-securing it. We attached shoulder straps on the inside so he can crawl in and wear the costume like a backpack. He has already practiced the sacrifice for creativity of having to maneuver sideways through doors, but the neighborhood kids love it! Happy Halloween!
