Each year we try to make our costumes even better than the last. We wanted something edgy that would test the boundaries of our creative minds. After scouring the internet for hours on end, between the four of us, we decided on Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. We chose the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, and of course, the beautiful Alice.
We sifted through the aisles of our local thrift stores for key pieces for our costumes, which we in turn ended up cutting up and ripping, then stitching/glue-ing back together to create each costume. There were scraps of fur and fabric and more fur EVERYWHERE that stuck around the house through Christmas.
Online make-up tutorials with A LOT of practice helped us create our animalistic features.
With all of the creativity we could muster, along with loads of paint, glue, and sewing, we created a masterpiece that we absolutely loved! Here’s how the Homemade Alice in Wonderland Group Costume turned out!
