Cool Oompa Loompa DIY Halloween Costume

A friend at work has been calling me Oompa Loompa for the part year. I decided to try an Oompa Loompa Costume for Halloween this year after my daughter was watching “Charlie and the Chocolate factory” on TV.

The pants were the hardest part. I found a pair of white pants at a local store that were much to big. My grandmother helped shorten them to right above my calves. We taped triangle Styrofoam pieces to my legs and then pulled the pants over the Styrofoam. We sewed black buttons and white ribbon to the pants for the top. The shirt was a brown turtleneck I already had in my closet.

The white stripes were made with paper tape. Along with the white stripes on the socks. The hair is my own with some green hair spray and the ends of my hair curled up, I made my face orange with some dark colored blush and the white is Halloween makeup. Then I just added some white gloves of my daughter’s. My height was a great help at only being 4’10 1/2.

Dressing up as an Oompa Loompa was a blast. At work and at a local Halloween party lots of heads turned and was surprised that is was me. I was asked several times how I did it. Had a lot of fun, Never made a costume before but it might be a new tradition.
