Coolest Homemade Alice in Wonderland Family Costumes

For the second year in a row, we have teamed up with our friends to create an entire theme including our kids (last year we went as the Flintstones and Rubbles). With a couple trips to the local thrift store, fabric store, our own closets, the fact that two of us are 7 months pregnant, as well as looking through a few online tutorials of how to alter clothing, we came up with the following homemade Alice in Wonderland family costumes: Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the March Hare, the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat.

We upped the anty this year with homemade bunny ear and cat hats complete with wire to help the ears stand and flap, along with custom bow ties sewn from thrift store t-shirts.

The entire Cheshire cat outfit is made from one medium woman’s stripped shirt with some extra pink-ish fabric for accents. Alice’s apron was re-fashioned from a thrift store window valance. Enjoy!
