Coolest Homemade Edward Scissorhands Halloween Costume

This is a Homemade Edward Scissorhands Halloween Costume I made for my Ex when we lived in LA. I started with a zip up leather jacket that I got at the thrift store.

I turned the jacket around so it actually zipped up the back. I bought any and all leather belts from the thrift store and either they were already black or I spray painted them. I glued on little metal studs and loops where needed with a hot glue gun.

I cut parts of the jacket and re sewed them by hand for a more ‘handmade’ look. The belts were secured by hot glue and thread and the jacket slipped on backwards then all the belts were fastened. The neck part is actually ht collar turned up and fastened with thin belts.

For the pants just some simple leather pants taken in to be skin tight. He used his own black boots which I added studs and belts to.

This is his own hair which I pinned and teased and sprayed the heck out of with aqua net!

The hands are leather gloves with foam blade cutouts covered in duct tape (the first night for a party we used I think foil which came off)

I dressed as Lydia that year.
