Our group decided to go out dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz. I decided to be the Tin man. I made the main parts of my Homemade Tin Man Costume with tag board and brads and painted them with silver spray-paint. I found long silver skirt that I cut and sewed into pants and then I spray painted an old pair of my boots silver. The funnel hat was just a funnel painted silver and duct taped to a headband. Silver gloves and lots of silver face paint to finish off the costume.
I made sure to re-enforce the inside of the costume with lots of duct tape so that it wouldn’t rip as easy. And…the most important costume piece – the straw – was needed because I couldn’t tip my head back to drink!

Your tin man costume is the best I have seen anywhere. But I don’t know what tag board is and where to get it. And how did you know what size to cut it? and how did you get in and out of it?
