I had a vision to create a “bowl of spaghetti and meatballs on a table” but had no idea how it would come together. I started with the hat. Hot glued yarn on a hat along with brown painted foam balls for meatballs. I was very worried she would have nothing to do with the pasta hat. My daughter, 11 months at the time would never wear hats!
I cut out the bottom of a plastic bowl to fit around her waist. Red shirt under the pasta to look like sauce. The tricky part was creating a table that we could push around, since our little girl was not walking yet. I found a foam board, cut a circle out for the bowl to fit into. Cut some groves into the foam board to fit on a baby carriage frame. Added a table cloth. Then the rest was easy.
I added salt n’ pepper shakers, wine glass, grapes, pumpkin, all with hot glue. Then I was going crazy looking for a fake piece of bread. Then finally, I just purchased a real bread roll. My daughter loved eating it the whole night.
The reaction to this cute baby bowl of spaghetti and meatballs stroller costume was amazing. We still have people calling her the “Spaghetti Baby” 10 months later. Also, people are asking what she will be this year. As far as the hat. She wore it all night! Never once tried to pull it off. I think she was loving all the attention!
