The Dorothy, Scarecrow, and Glenda were rented costumes. For the tinman I used a metallic fabric and used my son’s shirt and pants as a pattern to sew the costume. I then used silver spray paint for plastic for his ax which I purchased at our local dollar tree from a fireman set. The cowards lion I made using an old dog costume. For the mane I used upholstery tinsel and cut the ends and frayed the tinsel and it made a perfect mane.
For the winged monkey dog costume I just used felt. The wizard was just green pants and jacket with a top hat. The wicked witch was just a black robe but our friend used food color for the face and hand paint. I DO NOT recommend!! It looked great but took days to remove. The lollipop kid was just a frayed shirt and shorts with a lollipop made from a dowel rod, Styrofoam disc, and colored saran wrap. This was a super fun year!
