This homemade Energizer Bunny costume was a last minute costume idea. I stressed out quite a bit about what I was going to be for Halloween, then the light clicked on! I figured, its easy, well known & not too crazy! I liked the costume because it was something everyone would know and recognize..
A majority of the costume is hand made, well, at least the parts that actually make the costume, the Energizer Bunny.
The drum, batteries, boots covers, drum handles, and tutu are hand made. I bought my bunny ears, fishnets and jacket.
I spent a total of 32 $ on the entire costume.
My drum is made from a 55 gallon plastic drum cut to size. The inserts are made from card board covered with poster board, computer print out logo then colored with markers.
Batteries are made from paper cylinders covered with printed out logo, colored with marker. then painted with metallic silver paint. They are tied into a shoe box lid, and wore with the straps from my daughters kindergarten back pack!
It was enjoyed by all, and not too much of a pain to wear.. The only dislike i had was carrying the drum, it was bulky, and big. I would turn and run in to people, and smaller people, id knock around..It was easily resolved by just taking it off.
I haven’t entered any contests… Not yet anyways!
Totally awesome costume! You should definitely win a contest with that one!
