I love all things sideshow/freakshow and got inspired after recently watching American Horror Story Freakshow. I bought the wig, beard, mustache, and headband at a costume shop. I already had the corset, skirt, and kimono. I used spirit gum to attach the beard and mustache. The trick is to keep touching the spirit gum with your finger until it gets really tacky, and then put more on and do the same thing.
My beard kept coming off a little bit, so when strangers would complement me, I’d lean in and say “How’s my beard holding up?” and then have them help me reattach it with eyelash glue.
My favorite part of this costume was winking and complementing guys with nice beards. They were so confused and weirded out! So much fun.
