Beauty and the Beast has to be one of my ultimate favorite childhood cartoons. I have wanted to be Belle for many years and this year I finally accomplish it! This costume was very easy to make and it got A LOT of attention throughout the night.
Firstly, I have to say I had a yellow satin dress which made this costume so easy to do!! All I did was went to my local fabric store and got a similar yellow satin color to create contrast. I sewed the shoulders around and put a brooch in the front to pull it all together.
Second, to make the rouching in the dress I simply folded the dress where I wanted there to be a fold and hot glued it all around. I wore a tutu underneath the dress to make it more full.
Lastly, to complete the look I wore Belle’s classic half up half down style with a bun of course. I loved being Belle for the night and would highly recommend doing this for someone who still wants a sexy costume but not too much!
