Best Maleficent Costume for a Girl

My 4 year old daughter is obsessed with frozen, so when she told me she wanted to be Maleficent for halloween. I was ecstatic! I worked about 70-80 hours on this costume. It was the first costume I have made with this much detail, and I had a blast doing it!

First I made the headpiece. It is a base of fosshape, with demon horns that I spray painted with help from my daughter, then wrapped with layers of faux leather. The wings were a camping sleep mat that I shaped with a sharp box knife and heat gun, then covered in feathers and a faux talon on the top of each wing. They were attached by a harness and were removable.

The staff was a bamboo rod that I glued tissue paper around and painted. I then painted a christmas ornament with nail polisht and attached it with vines made of instamorph. The bird is just glued on top.

The rest of the costume was just sewn using no pattern. The collar of the cape had fosshape in it to help it stand up. I did all of the makeup myself and also photographed her in the costume and added some special effects in photoshop. The costume itself was not altered in photoshop in any way.
