The Birds Hitchcock Homemade Costume

I wanted to recreate Tippi Hedron’s character from Alford Hitchcock’s movie The Birds.

I found an old skirt suite at a thrift store for about $10 and wore a white t-shirt with it. I wanted the suite to look like the birds had ripped holes in it, so I added some tears and blood and hot glued about 10 black birds to different parts of the suite. I even glued a bird to the blonde wig that I wore.

I made my makeup look like it had been smeared from sweat and tears and added a few fake scratches to my face. I ripped my shirt too to look as if some birds had torn it. I ended up getting second place in a costume contest.
