I’ve always LOVED Britney Spears, ever since I was little. And when Katy Perry recreated the Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake denim VMA outfits, I knew I wanted to do it too. At first my boyfriend was completely against the idea, but when I told him I’d handle the entire thing, he got on board!
My boyfriend and I made our costumes completely from scratch (well, I made them). I bought denim fabric and sewed/ hot glued everything together to look like the outfits from the VMAs. Throughout the process of making the outfits, I poked myself with the sewing needles and burned myself from the hot glue gun MULTIPLE times.
People LOVED our costumes (mainly people in our age group – aka millennials) since we grew up with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake as our idols. One girl even commented on my picture I posted of our costumes calling me her idol!
