I love making Halloween costumes. This year my husband and I were gumball machine and the quarter to insert. So for my daughter, I had to top that and let my imagination run wild. Since she is not fully walking I figured I would incorporate her stroller as part of her costume! What other than a cabbage patch doll since she already looks like a little doll.
I crochet the wig and it was real cute, I measured her sitting in an umbrella stroller to get the depth I needed, giving plenty of room for the feet. I taped and hot glued a box with the bottom open to slide over the stroller. I cut notches in the top and bottom to coincide with the metal frame of the umbrella stroller.
I painted the entire box yellow. I cut out the opening to look like a Cabbage Patch doll box. I painted and decorated with a logo I printed out from the computer and glued it on the front. I cut a piece of fabric that would be the “back” of the box. I hot glued it to the top, sides and back of the box. I made sure there was enough slack.
All that was left was to put her wig on, give her a pacifier and watch people’s reactions. Everybody loved it! When we went trick or treating, people would stop and take pictures of her.
This is cool…I had no idea. Cool idea!
