Coolest Homemade Tony Perkis from Heavyweights Costume

One of my favorite movies of all time has to be Heavyweights! I watch it quite often and seeing it recently gave me the idea of a homemade Tony Perkis from Heavyweights costume, the new camp director at Camp Hope. If you don’t know who he is, or haven’t seen the movie, I suggest you Google his name and rent the movie!

To make this costume, you need to buy a wig (try to make it as bushy and curly as possible) and you can get it from Spirit Halloween or Party City ($15). You also need a headband and you should draw his “P” logo on it for “Perkis”; I cut the bottom of one of my white shirts to make this. You also need to get biker shorts or compression shorts ($15), and you can get them pretty much anywhere. You need to wear athletic shoes too.

And finally: the shirt. I Googled “Tony Perkis Heavyweights” and went to images and I found the front image that you see, and then on the back it says Tony’s slogan “I’M PERKISIZING.” I went to a professional and he ironed the artwork onto a black tank-top for me ($20).

Overall, this homemade Tony Perkis from Heavyweights costume was a hit and brought back a ton of memories for everyone.
