Completely Homemade Queen of Hearts Costume

I really loved the character from Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland, The Queen of Hearts.  I began a long journey of trying to find just the right fabric to make it a close as possible to the screen version.  After a couple of weeks I had not found what I wanted in fabric so I bought gold fabric and hand painted the four yards of fabric for the over-skirt.

I used three patterns to make the dress and modified the top by putting pleating in it.  I then overlaid the gold fabric on the top and added the red stripes on it.

The underskirt I cut out all of the hearts both gold and black and placed them on the skirt in rows. All of the beading I did myself and put across the top.  The wig was done by a friend and maintained by myself.  In all it took me 6 months to finish the complete costume.  I did all my own makeup.

I hope you enjoy what I have done.  Thank you.
