Cool Oompa Loompa Costume

I love the original Willy Wonka movie and always wanted to be an Oompa Loompa for Halloween. The hardest part of the costume was the face paint. I had the brown shoes already in my closet, as well as the white capri pants. I purchased brown soccer socks and a turtleneck matching the same shade of brown from Kmart and Target. The stripes are strips of Curad tape (found in the medicine aisle at the stores). White cream based face paint for the brows.

I purchased a 60’s style blonde wig and used 3 cans of neon green spray paint for the hair. The face paint is a mix of two shades of theater makeup. The suspenders are two strips of suspender material found at the fabric store. White magician gloves were purchased from the dollar store. I was a huge hit at the Halloween party. Be sure to use a face mask when spray painting the wig. It also helps to spray coats over an extended period, allowing each coat to dry for 12-24 hours.
