Cool Rick and Morty Costume with Paper Mache Mask

The mass production of costumes and clothing these days has a massive impact on the environment. Halloween costumes are typically made with petroleum byproducts which are cheaply made and uncomfortable; two things that sound pretty terrible to me.  Also I’ve always believed the old adage that “a penny saved is a penny earned”. Making my own costumes is something I enjoy doing. It’s the journey not the destination right? I’ve seen almost every episode of Rick and Morty so I thought I’d tackle Rick for my costume this year.

Materials I Used for the Costume

Paper Mache – Newspaper, flour, glue, water

Elastic – to keep the mask on my head

Old sheer panty hose – to cover the mouth opening

Cardboard – for the hair spikes and slobber.
