Coolest Beer Pong Costume

I made this Beer Pong cup out of a 4’x 8′ plastic sheet I found at Home Depot (not sure what its used for but it was perfect). I then spray painted it red and also found pipe insulator and painted it white used for the rim of the cup. I then made shoulder straps to hold the cup up so I could walk with it.

Then, all I needed was a Beer Pong ball witch I made out of a light wight globe painted white that I got at Target.

Who doesn’t love Beer Pong? And everyone uses the classic red party cup so as soon as anyone saw this they knew what it was and if you never have to tell someone what you are you did a good job.

This costume cost me less then fifty dollars to make which is around what most costumes cost in stores and i think this one is way cooler.

  1. I love this idea. I am trying to make it but can’t figure out what kind of plastic you used. Home Depot only has Plexiglas which is too heavy and expensive. Otherwise it is too thin and won’t hold it’s shape. Any help?

  3. I love your idea, I am making one right now but I am using a big garbage can. I cut the bottom off, the top rim and the handles. I painted it red and will add the rim tomorrow. I tested it at the home improvement store when I put it over my head, anything for Halloween. Thanks for the idea. I am looking for a watermelon box to make the table now.

  4. Ok so the plastic he used is at home depot. Its like a thin dma shower liner they are 4′ by 8′ and cost about 20 bucks. we searched every where till we found it all the way in the back of the store in the shower lining area! Good luck! this costume kicks ass!

  5. I’m making this costume for this halloween with 9 other girls. We are using trash cans we bought at Wal-mart. We cut out the bottoms and painted the outside red, and the inside white, and attached straps to them. We are also putting solo on the sides of the cup, and a black rectangle of chalkboard paint to imitate the new “it’s my cup” from Solo. we are using white volleyballs as giant ping pong balls. We are wearing yellow shirts to look like beer, and that have Ruit phrases on the back like “Re-Rack” and “Balls Back”.

  6. Some of the others have talked of using a larger hula hoop on the top & a smaller one on the bottom. You might even have to cut the hula hoop down to make it smaller if you cannot buy a smaller one. Another idea, might be able to hot glue that pipe insulation painted white outside the top edge of the red cup material. If that’s not stiff enough to hold the shape, then you could thread some coat hanger wire through the center of the pipe insulation. Then along the bottom, I would hot glue some more insulation to the inside edge.

As far as the red part of the cup, going to someplace like Walmart & buying a red vinyl/plastic tablecloth that is insulated on the backside would have good body & would be cheaper than $20…although I don’t think it would cost that much for a shower curtain liner or some thick floor cover for when you are painting a room. You can also buy plastic to go under hardwood flooring but I don’t know if you can buy small rolls of that. Like I was saying if you used a red table cloth, you would also save $ on paint & time + paint does not stick to plastic well without a special primer and could chip & peel.

  7. I HAVE SOME COLLAPSIBLE MESH LAUNDRY HAMPERS IN TWO SIZES WITH THE WIRE THAT SPRINGS BACK TO A CIRCLE SHAPE. I THINK I WILL TRY THAT FOR TOP AND BOTTOM. VERY LIGHTWEIGHT.
