I started this Homemade Chiquita Banana Girl Costume with the love of Chiquita Bananas! I handmade this outfit over a year. It seems I keep adding and adding more fruit! I am 5’5″ and with the headpiece I am now 7′ tall! I give out all Banana flavored treats with this costume, Banana lip balms, banana laffy taffy, banana nerd etc. I even do showings at the Elementry Schools, giving out real bananas!
The outfit is a hit with the kids, and it seems all kids will eat a banana if it’s from the “Chiquita Lady”. It is a great way to promote healthy eating in the school, plus I just like dressing up! The headpiece is about 45 lbs, and quite the balancing act but is worth the looks on peoples faces, everyone knows who Chiquita is!
