The cupcake costume was created by taking a big Rubbermaid bin, cutting out the bottom, and hot-gluing folded poster board all around it. The topping was created using cheap tulle from a fabric store. I bunched it up and duck taped it to the inside so it stayed on top.
The sprinkles were just foam circles (pompoms would work too). The cherry-on-top was created using foam that I molded into the correct shape and covered with red felt. The stem was a pipe cleaner. I adhered it to a headband, and voila!
The best part of this costume is the baker because it’s perfect for an easy costume for a significant other who doesn’t want to do much work. My boyfriend just wore a chefs hat and an apron, filled the pockets with baking utensils, and put flour on his face. We got so many compliments!
