I was inspired by my lack of funds to create a cheap costume that didn’t look cheap. That being said, I went to a Thrift store and found a dress for 2.50 cents that I felt to be ’60’s inspired. Next, I bought some white lark birds at a wedding store, which I then spraypainted black and covered them with acrylic red paint (for maximum evil). They were then placed on hangers and twisted around a metal clamp which I put around my neck and hid with my collar.
Feathers and additional birds/blood/tears were then put all over my sweet and innocent 2.50 dollar dress. Poor thing.
And that, my friends, is how you do a DIY Hitchcock’s The Birds Halloween Costume!
Best costume ever!
This is the best DIY costume I’ve seen in years, and the fact that it was so inexpensive to make doesn’t make it cheap. It is excellent!!!!
And cheap, to boot? YOU WIN.
This costume is really quite authentic looking. I love the birds pecking at her and flying around her. The blood, everything…its very authentic! Nothing that costs so much money to do, and really scary!!!
Alfred Hitchcock is one of my favorite geniuses for murder mysteries and horror!
