We decided to go for the Homemade Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth Costumes since our boys love the show, and I am short and full figured and my husband is tall. We went to our local thrift store and found the vest, shirt, and pants for dog, and some Indian looking beading for his arms that we cut to size and moved the beads around a little.
I found the wigs at a Halloween store and cut the front teased and added feathers and beads from the Dollar store for dog, and curled Beth’s and REALLY HAIR SPAYED them both. I had an old pair of fake leather pants I could not fit into, so I cut them down the seams and made a skirt for Beth with no sew tape. I wore two bras and stuffed the sides with old shoulder pads form some 80 clothes in the back of my closet (you would be surprised what’s in your closet that you do not need). This gave me so much cleavage that I had trouble seeing my feet.
I bought my boots at the thrift store for Beth and my husband had a pair of cowboy boots in the back of his closet. I found glue on nails and lip stick from the local drug store, in pink of course for Beth. My husband is a police officer so we used old badges covered in foil to wear around our necks.
We had the best time that night and were not uncomfortable at all (no need for sweaty masks). It was some DOG gone good time!
