Coolest Edward Scissorhands Homemade Costume Idea

My husband dressed up as Edward Scissorhands this year and I was Mrs. Scissorhands. For him, we got dark gray dress pants that were a little big on him from Goodwill and black suspenders from Hot Topic. He had a white business shirt and black t-shirt to wear underneath. We used an extra black t-shirt and cut it up to put around his neck to make it look like a black turtleneck. We used black electrical tape to attach gold colored steel rings from Hobby Lobby to make it look like his leathery suit underneath.

I did his makeup after watching Kandee Johnson’s Edward Scissorhands Makeup Tutorial on youtube. I got cheaper versions of the stuff she recommended on the video so that the colors were a close match. I used eyelash glue to create the scars on his face afterwards. We got the gloves and wig from Johnnie Brocks. People kept saying he looked exactly like him all night. Oh, and we won first place in the costume contest, too.
