Coolest Fairy Princess Costume

I made this fairy costume for my husband to wear at our daughter’s 1st birthday. Every year we have a theme and he begrudgingly dresses up to match that theme.( I think secretly he loves it)

This particular year we had a fairy party so I got to work creating him the perfect fairy outfit.
The wig we brought from a store and them dressed it up with some pretty pink ribbon to match his skirt. The top we just bought, the skirt however I had to make as unfortunately they do not make fairy skirts to fit a 6 foot tall man. With this I brought the tuille, some elastic and some ribbon and sewed them all together to make this very pretty skirt for him to wear.

The tiara and the wand were again just store bought but the wings I had to modify to fit. I could not buy a pair of fairy wings to fit him so I came across this big butterfly that I then made into the wings. I added elastic to it to slip over his arms and keep it in place and made a few other minor changes to it to make them look more like wings.

All in all I think he looks very pretty and the kids just loved it. Some I must admit were a bit scared but all the parents got a good laugh out of it.
