This Homemade Fall Fairy Girl Costume was made with mostly upcycled items from around the house (we are crafters). We used wire hangers and tights for the wings. We used glitter glue to decorate.
We did purchase some remnant material for the layers of the skirt and shirt. I used flowers from old arrangements and purchased a few extra. We used raffia that I had around he house. We had so much fun decorating and creating the costume.
Searching for thing that we could use became a sort of game! Then our photo shoot on a beautiful fall day, was so fun!! We borrowed our neighbors horse for one shot. This shot I have named “Casting a Spell”, as it appears that the fairy is casting a spell on the horse!! I dressed as “Mother Nature” and it made a great Mother daughter combination! We had one of our best Halloweens ever! Everyone loved her costume! Many homes gave her extra candy and even took her picture because they liked her costume so much! I entered some of her photo’s in an amateur photo contest and they thought they were professional photo’s!
I have no formal training and it was an automatic digital camera! I attribute my success to the subject matter and the beautiful day and backround. Her Homemade Fall Fairy Girl Costume cost approximately $25.00 to make because of all the things we used that were laying around the house.
