When I was pregnant with my first daughter I wanted to be fat bastard thinking what a funny costume it would be but being to tired and not feeling the holiday spirit I didn’t. I swore if I got pregnant again during that time of year I wouldn’t pass up such an opportunity. I then got pregnant with my second daughter and out came Fat Bastard Costume.
I made his hat from a dollar store badge, felt and plaid fabric. The coat was a real coat that I sewed felt items onto to make it look like it belonged. The kilt I sewed by hand and ironed every pleat in prior to stitching. The shirt was a tank top I wrote on with a red marker.
The facial hair was some old fur seat covers my mom got from the second hand store at her job that I cut and glued to my face with Halloween face glue. My belt was some old leather left overs from when my son was Blade one year and some felt material that I tied around my waist with a shoe string.
The sock covers were plaid fabric I stitched together and tucked into my sox and the shoe covers were made from white felt with elastic straps underneath to hold them in place. My big turkey leg was a maracca that I covered in paper mache and then painted with brown spray paint.
This is fantastic! Great costume.
What a great idea for what to be for Halloween when you’re pregnant! I really love the idea of the t-shirt. Fat Bastard is another one of my favorite characters from Austin Powers :)
Awesome! I’m so untalented……. but I’d buy it off you! mellovic@aol.com
